Keep Your B&O Tax Dollars Local

One of the easiest ways to support Historic Downtown Oak Harbor is through the Washington Main Street Tax Credit Program.

When your business pledges to donate to Oak Harbor Main Street Association, you may receive a tax credit worth 75% of your approved contribution toward your state B&O tax bill.

Your support helps keep local dollars working right here in downtown through beautification, marketing, events, outreach, and organization for our Main Street district.

How the Tax Credit Program Works

Starting in January, businesses can pledge a contribution to Oak Harbor Main Street Association through the Washington Main Street Tax Credit Program.

Once approved, your business may receive 75% of your donation back as a Washington State B&O tax credit the following year. A portion of your pledge is also tax deductible because OHMSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

That means you can redirect tax dollars back into Historic Downtown Oak Harbor while supporting a more vibrant, welcoming, and active downtown.

How to Pledge

  1. Sign in or create an account with the Washington Department of Revenue.
  2. Choose More Excise Tax Options in your account.
  3. Select Manage/Apply for a Tax Credit.
  4. Select Add Main Street Application.
  5. Find Oak Harbor Main Street Association and enter your contribution amount.
  6. Fill in the required information and submit your pledge.

Before November 1, mail your pledge payment to Oak Harbor Main Street Association, PO Box 851, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
