One of the easiest ways to contribute to Oak Harbor Main Street Association is through Business and Occupation (B&O taxes). We work with the Department of Historic Preservation and Archeology's Main Street tax credit program to provide credit for private contributions.
Once your business requests to donate the Department of Revenue will file it. Once approved, you are eligible for a tax credit worth 75% of the contribution to your yearly B&O tax bill. You essentially are self-directing your business taxes!
Sound too good to be true? Here's how it works. Businesses must be registered to file their state excise tax electronically. The donation request is completed online at the link in our 'Donate' button above. Your pledged donation can be broken up into separate payments, but you must pledge early in the year to guarantee the donation is eligible. Businesses take the tax credit the following year.
OHMSA will utilize donations to do outreach, marketing, beautification, and organization of our wonderful, downtown community.
